Food by Dish’s ‘Night at the Museum’


Last weekend, Friday 11th December, leading London caterers Food by Dish brought the Natural History Museum to life with a special 'Night at the Museum'.

Taking place in the Waterhouse Way and Hintze Hall spaces, 530 guests enjoyed cuisine form across the continents and entertainment from party band, Bellissima as well as DJ sets. Canapes service includes Scandinavian prawn cocktails; dukkah spiced lamb kofta; and mini beef burgers.

Food stations were themed around the characters from the 2006 film, including 'Toot and Come in' featuring Egyptian treats like Shawarma; lamb tagine and bread with hummus, baba ghanoush and mint yoghurt. 'The Hungary Viking' highlighted central and northern European foods with Swedish meatballs, beef goulash' halaszle, a river fish stew and Jansson's temptation, potato rosti.

There was a 'Roman around Italy' pasta bar with the choice of gnocchi and penne pasta, served with beef bolognaise or salmon, as well as aubergine parmigiana and an Italian meat antipasti board. 'The Wild West' station crossed the Atlantic offering pulled pork, southern spiced crusted chicken and spicy bean burgers. Later, a whole suckling pig was served in 'The Cave', followed by dessert canapes including dinosaur shaped cookies and lemon meringue.
