Food by Dish and Michel Roux Jr’s Kitchen Impossible

Food by Dish has joined forces with Michelin-star chef Michel Roux Jr. for Channel 4’s brand new series, Kitchen Impossible.

Airing tonight (Thursday 29th October), the programme follows eight out-of-work people with disabilities put through an intensive four week introduction to catering. The ‘Le Gavroche’ chef teaches his latest trainees the basic skills of the kitchen to prepare them for a shift at a steakhouse.

As part of the training, Food by Dish mentored two candidates on general event catering practices, such as the art of waiting, including: knowledge of the dish being served, how to deliver the food and how to be a professional , as well as joining Michel Roux Jr. in teaching the essentials of the kitchen . This concluded in the pair preparing and serving a tasting menu to Food by Dish and their client Merlin at the Riverside Rooms.

Hannah Flood, Sales and Marketing Director at Food by Dish says: “Catering is often seen as one of the toughest jobs around, with its intense and fast-paced environment. As one of London’s leading caterers we were delighted to be part of this project and work alongside Michael Roux Jr., with whom we share the same ethos that no one is unemployable.”

Kitchen Impossible with Michel Roux Jr. starts tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm.
